The Goal

 

To enhance the experience of the swedish delegation at SXSW in Austin, Texas 2015. Create an engaging and interactive feeling in the swedish stand at the tradeshow at SXSW in Austin, Texas 2015.

How we did it

 

We created an interactive installation where you could create your own beats on the turntable drum machine, where you could become a part of a musical instrument and also where you could play on the tiny synthesizer. This entire piece of interactive audio fun was built into an old radio furniture which gave an old analog feel to the otherwise digital instrument. We did this to highlight the swedish design tradition where the past and the present meets to create something new. Everyone from swedish government officials, Nasa employees, Texas police to bands and trade show visitors came by to play music with, and on, each other and to be a part of the swedish experience at SXSW.

 

 

When the swedish bands that toured SXSW held a show at the legendary Threadgills we at Mirror Music created an interactive instrument and played on the audience together with local musicians.
